Are you getting tired of the Guitar Hero Franchise?

I've been playing Guitar Hero and it's other incarnations for awhile now and have become a little tired of it. GH is more of a social/casual game than anything. Sure a ton of people are racking up massive scores and posting their accomplishments but I still feel that something is lacking.

When Guitar Hero first came out I saw it as a somewhat innovative Guitar Freaks rip-off. I still see it as that but they do need to change the formula before it gets stale. Do something different other than just adding new music. New features and Modes are also very important.

And of course the Holy Grail of all "wants" we have is Synced Online Competitive Play. Let's face it, Online is now the place where we all go to test our skills against others in the comfort of our own living rooms.

More developers need to see that asap. I don't want to have to wait for the Xbox 720, PS4 or Wii 2.0 to come out before they start actually using the technology we currently have.

The future is now developers, get to work!

Its funny this game how it can get away without the need for any real graphics or online. I never never notice whats going on with the backgound in the game except when I'm waiting for the next notes after a long pause or the beginning or end. And its a crime its not Muliti online. This game seems to fall into the Wii catagory of great gameplay with decent graphics without andy online ta boot.

GH 3 does look alot better. And the new Battle mode sounds kinda cool. But I dont think id get sick of it.

Well, I don't own it, but I have played it and I think it's fun.

That said, I don't think I've ever seen a franchise so quick to have 3 sequels. They better be careful or they could suffer from over-saturation.

I'm regarding GH3 with some skepticism. I'm finding myself somewhat bitter that we're getting a quick sequel so soon after I purchased GH 2 for my 360 with the promise of "new songs" over live later on. All we're getting are OG GH retreads. NOW, they're telling us that with GH 3, the 360 can expect "fresh content" over XBL. I have a feeling that this "fresh" content will just be songs from the 80's edition.

Speaking of the 80's edition, I have no interest in it. It seems to be taking the concept of the tacky songs that are fun to play from the other two, like Carry on now Wayward Son and More than a Feeling, and making an entire game based around that. Plus, I could be wrong, but I thought I saw footage that basically showed it as GH2 with a few 80's themed skins for characters.
